For the first burn, allow the wax to melt close to the edge of the vessel. This will prevent tunneling, a drowned wick and prolong the life of your candle.
Make sure to trim your wick to 1/4 before each burn. If you see a high flame or build up at the end of your wick it's time for a trim!
If soot forms on the inside of the vessel, extinguish candle and wait for it to cool. Wipe with a clean damp cloth, trim wick and relight.
To avoid soot and smoke, it's best to keep the wicks trimmed and melt pool free of debris. If soot forms on the glass, it can be cleaned with a paper towel and coconut oil.

Extinguish candle with a snuffer to prevent smoking and also prevent hot wax from splattering. Do not blow out.
Check to make sure the size of your candle is appropriate for the size of the room. Keep windows and doors close to keep the aroma in.
Candles can expire over time, losing their fragrance, becoming discolored, or otherwise growing stale. To prolong the life of your candles, store them in a cool, dark place at room temperature.
